Tired of Updating Your Copyright Notices?

It's that time of the year again...time to update the copyright notices on your websites and blogs.

I used to do this manually but a couple of years ago I automated it using a simple script and some HTML. All my sites show a notice similar to this,"Copyright 2006 - 2011 The Branch Team..."  The simple script below will update the "second year" in te notice to keep it current.

Start Code

<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript">
<!--//Script created by Ronny Drappier, http://sipreal.com
//Visit http://javascriptkit.com for this script
    today=new Date();
    y0=today.getFullYear();
  // end hiding --->
</script>

 <font color="#ffffff" size="1"> Copyright ©
2006 -

<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript">
  <!--- Hide from old browsers
    document.write(y0);
  // end hiding --->
</script>

The Branch Team...

End Code

It's really not that hard to follow. The script pulls the current year in the first section of the code, the second section sets up the copyright notice, the third section of code inserts the current year into the notice, and the fourth section finishes up the notice.

If you don't want to automate, remember to go update your copyright notices.
