Dallas Real Estate and Short Sale Blog: No Sex in the Summer

No Sex in the Summer

We do a number of interviews with the media, but this one was different!  Yesterday we took part in a story about busy professionals and the impact the children being out of school for the summer have on "adult time."

We didn't get to see it on-air because we were on a date at Sambuca 360 in west Plano. Sambuca 360 is a nice evening nightspot with a great happy hour, extended and tasty menu, and live music.

No Sex In The Summer - Kids Out Of The School Cramping Parents Style (Shana Franklin - The 33 News)

There are two kids, a dog and home offices. It is a hectic world for one Plano family. Mom and RE/MAX Realtor Gina Branch says laughingly, "It's chaotic."

Adding to the chaos is the fact school is out, which her 12-year daughter Jordan loves. Jordan says, "I sit on the couch, turn the t.v. on, turn my laptop on and text, watch t.v. and play on my computer."

But having Jordan and her 15-year old sister around all summer can be a bit of a distraction for Gina and husband Tom, who is a real estate broker and also works from home. Gina Branch says, "The kids can be outdoors and playing later in the day which causes our work to back up. We end up doing that after hours and then of course you fall into bed get back up the next morning and you start all over again."

Ahhhmmmmm Tom... All I'm going to do is to laugh at this one and I'm saying nothing more.

I have to admit the title caught me off guard. The original story was about how many couples have less time together during the summer because the kids are at home.

Our part of the story was how we adapt to the change by scheduling time together. That part of the story was covered but got lost in the racey title.

We're done a number of real estate related stories with CW-33. This is the first human-interest story we have taken part in.
